During the recent surgical camp in Kumi, Uganda, 16 children received treatment for a range of orthopedic and general surgical conditions. Procedures included corrections of congenital deformities such as genu valgum, genur varum, clubfoot, and gluteal fibrosis after chinine injection. Several cases incolved osteomyelitis, requiring surgical debridement. onter interventions included an open reduction and fixation of an elbow fracture, a surgical repair of an umbilical hernia, and a drainage of a parotid abscess. Another child aged 11 years was treated for severe malnutrition.
